Pagi di Port Weld aka Kuala Sepetang

Pagi tadi 1st time hubby ikut abah ke jeti nelayan di Kampung Menteri, Port Weld@ Kuala Sepetang. Abah asal org Port Weld. Mostly penduduk kat sana kerja sbg nelayan, hutan bakau or buat kayu arang. Hasil tangkapan mostly kerang & udang. So, mmg kebanyakan makanan masa kecik2 dulu kat rumah Tok ada udang & kerang..
I want to upload photos taken by hubby but till now tak boleh2.. ada jugak gambar kenduri kahwin yg kitaorang pegi kat sana semalam.
.. opps, dah boleh upload, tp sikit je.. nanti upload lagi..

Cucur udang yg buat petang semalam.
Paling best klu dpt mkn cucur udang dgn sos yg buat sendiri mcm kat atas. Sos ni aku belajar dr emak.. i use dried chilli, onion, garlic & buah keras (optional). Goreng semua sampai garing & mesin halus (guna mesin kering). Then letak dlm mangkuk - masukkan air panas, cuka (or air asam jawa), garam & gula. Gaul & biar sekejap. Boleh jugak tambah kacang tumbuk utk lebih lemak. Boleh jugak guna sbg sos utk pecal or tauhu sumbat.

Aku nak update gambar my mom's cooking - roti canai udang + telur..tp x boleh. Dah dkt 1/2 jam.. at last give-up.. nnt le aku update.

Teringat masa kecik dulu emak selalu buat roti canai ni.. dlmnya ada udang, telur, cabai & bawang. Dah bertahun tak mkn, tetiba emak buat petang semlm..

Dhill's cooking: Spaghetti with mushroom sauce

I cook this super simple spaghetti with mushroom sauce for dinner tonight. The ingredients are as follows:
Spaghetti - about 150gm (masak ikut instruction kat paket)
3 potatoes
1 carrot (medium)
10 Shrimps (medium - mine is quite small)
3 cloves of garlic - chopped
1 medium size onion - sliced thinly
2 dried chili - coarsely sliced
1.5 tablespoon of wheat flour
Full cream milk - about 1/2 cup
1 packet of instant Campbell's mushroom soup
Butter (1.5 tablespoon) & olive oil (1 tablespoon)
Water - 2 cups.
Method:
Rebus kentang yg dibelah 4 & carrot yg dipotong sebesar ibujari.
- dlm pan, panaskan butter & olive oil. Tumis bawang merah, bila layu masuk bawang putih & cili kering. Kacau dan masukkan tepung. Biar sampai kuning then masuk susu, air & serbuk Campbell mushroom. Kacau lagi - masuk udang & garam. Bila dah didih boleh ceduk & curah atas plate yg dah diletak spaghetti, kentang & carrot.

Aku masak sikit je this time, taknak over eating. Tp rupanya tak cukup. Hubby wants more.. so i had to 'sacrify' my portion for him. Our dinner was accompanied with this tea..

14 Dec 2008.. we had kuey teow goreng for breakfast.. klu ikut plan nak bfast kat luar, tp hubby lambat sgt.. sampai perut aku berdendang lagu underground, end up aku terpaksa masuk dapur jugak..

Last saturday.. sementara tunggu hubby jumpa customer, aku beli kuih buat lapik perut yg tengah lapar gila.. yg dah kena gigit tu cucur badak. Yg tengah tunggu nak kena mkn tu karipap kentang yg memang le sedap..

We had early lunch that day (itu yg buat aku lapar gila ptg tu)..xtually we had brunch (as normally we did during weekends!). that day I had gulai ikan kembung/temenung with extra kuah (banjir), bendi & taugeh. Lama tak mkn macam ni.. best!

The 90-10 Principle-Old principle but so good to forever renew…

Discover the 90/10 Principle.
It will change your life (at least the way you react to situations).

What is this principle?

10% of life is made up of what happens to you.

90% of life is decided by how you react.

What does this mean? We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us.

We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%. How? By your reaction.

You cannot control a red light. But you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.

Let's use an example.

You are eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just happened. What happens next will be determined by how you react.

You curse.

You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over. She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus.

Your spouse must leave immediately for work. You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit. After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home.

When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter.

Why? The way you reacted in the morning.

Why did you have a bad day?

A) Did the coffee cause it?

B) Did your daughter cause it?

C) Did the policeman cause it?

D) Did you cause it?

The answer is “D".

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day.

Here is what could have and should have happened.

Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "Its ok honey, you just need to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.

Notice the difference?

Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both ended different.

Why?

Because of how you REACTED.

You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you!

React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.

How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off) Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them?

WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive?

Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.

You are told you lost your job.

Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job.

The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take outpour frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on.

Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger. Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse.

Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it. The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle.

The result?

Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache. We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle. It CAN change your life!!!

Jalan2 Makan2 @ Splendid- Jusco AU2 Setiawangsa

I wanted to upload photos taken during our jln2 mkn2 trip to newly opened JUSCO at Setiawangsa tonight, but unfortunately after a few attempts I still fail to upload. I'm not sure is it due to my bad 3G connection or problem with blogger server.

BTW, we had our dinner at Splendid cake & cafe. Their concept is similar to Secret Recipe, but for me Secret Recipe is much better than them... SC choice of menu and their cakes selection are much-much better than Splendid. Infact in term of value-for-money, SC is still the winner. Splendid sell their cakes for RM7.50/ slice while SC is only at RM6.30-6.50 and their cakes are more yummy and the slice are bigger than Splendid. We've tried fish & chip and black pepper chicken... and it is quite frustrating. The serving size is rather small .. even Chop & Steak in Kg Baru having bigger serving ( and even taste better!).

So.. definitely this is our 1st & last visit to Splendid..

Aku suka baca blog dia ni.. dia kawan Jebon anak Md Nor aka Datuk LAT. Walaupun teenage & postnya mcm tak serius, tp byk yg boleh belajar from her.. especially for those teens kat luar tu!
So.. for those nak release tension (mcm aku yg tengah tension giler babi nih) sambil gelak sampai pecah perut, boleh le singgah kat blog dia ni.. dia si HANIS ZALIKHA!

Jln2 Makan2 : Kg. Solok, Tangkak, Beriyani & Mee Rebus Azira

Ini our lunch meal on Sunday.. pecal & gulai kawah ayam. Mkn kat restoran di Kg. Melayu Subang. Pecal mmg sedap.. tp sedap lagi yg emak buat..ini 1st time mkn pecal yg ada bihun - tak pernah aku jumpa!


Sebelum ke Subang, as usual pegi beli buah kat chow kit. Ini pemandangan penjual & pembeli kat sana...


Nangka. Ada 2 jenis, satu kuning .. satu lagi dah mcm warna oren. Harga RM5/kg. Mula2 aku minta campur utk 1 kg. Bila aku bawak kat hubby (yg tunggu dlm kereta) & test rasa, hubby suruh beli lagi another 1kg. Kali ni aku beli yg kuning je.. yg tu lebih sedap..

Kat bawah ni is our dinner on Friday kat Restoran Azira, Seksyen 10 Shah Alam. Actually pegi sana lepas keje.. so we had our early dinner lar..
- mee rebus & beriyani ayam (gambar bawah)

Last week (Tuesday) on the way back to kl from jb, kami singgah di Kg Solok, Tangkak. Hajat hati nak mkn mee bandung & nasi goreng yg famous kat situ.. tp apakan daya, yg tinggal just mee & kuey teow goreng je.. walaupun masa tu baru pukul 2. Best layan nasi goreng kat situ.. walaupun sgt la simple. Aku masak lagi best, tp sekali-sekala nak jugak mkn nasi goreng kat gerai di kawasan kampung ni..



Mee goreng with sos cili JALEN.. pilihan hubby (kesian dia x dpt mkn mee bandung!!)


Klu nak ke sana, dr tol tangkak belok kanan ke pekan tangkak. Nanti akan jumpa signboard tunjuk kg solok kat traffic light kat pekan tangkak.. belok kanan. Kedai tu kat sebelah kiri tepi jln about 1 km dr traffic light tu.
